Our Interior Designers will talk about the Colour Wheel and how certain colours work well together. We will then explore the latest collections with Susan from Designers Guild, which demonstrate a fabulous use of colour.
Tickets are free, but spaces are limited, so please contact us to book as soon as you can. Each event will start with freshly made tea / coffee and home made cakes at 10 am.

Janet, Design Director at Swaffer, is explaining here how ideas can come from a variety of different sources, in this case from original watercolour artwork. This gorgeous watercolour formed part of the Handpicked Collection.
Janet keeps track of her ideas using moodboards – here are a few of the ones she brought to show us:
Janet also then explained the process involved with transforming ideas on paper onto fabric, the printing and weaving processes, through to choosing final colourways for new collections.

We thoroughly enjoyed the first of our design events of this series, which was held in our showroom yesterday.
Janet, the Design Director from Swaffer, and Anne delighted us with a very enjoyable and informative presentation, from concept to collection.
Janet explained how she is constantly thinking about new design ideas and how inspiration can come from all sorts of different sources – the initial inspiration for the Paradis collection came from a greetings card. The artist was then contacted by Swaffer and commissioned to create a series of floral watercolours which were then used to create this collection – still a firm favourite.
The image below shows how inspiration can also come from old archives. In this case the background is a photocopy of an archived pattern, and the fabric lying on top has been created using this archived document as a starting point, but simplifying the pattern and recolouring it.
